    While the QA community debates of the ISTQB certification needness , the GASQ has made significant changes in the structure of test-related certifications.

    In 2018,  ISTQB syllabus has changed.

Covid constraints and remote exams

The pandemic has made adjustments - now the  GASQ exams can be taken remotely.

The remote exam procedure is well described in the following article (Russian version).

In a few words - you need to have a room that no one will enter during the exam, a computer, audio playback, and a microphone.

Do not use headphones while.

Additionally, you need a smartphone, on which you will install a special application and will record yourself during the exam.

Types of QA certification

Testing\QA exams are divided into Foundation, Advanced and Expert levels.

The exam contains 40 questions for 1.5 hours.

To successfully pass the exam and obtain a certificate, you must have at least 65% of successful answers.

I scored only 52% - accordingly - I did not pass the exam.

Content feeding

Course`s usefulness

Spoiler - I passed the exam (February 2020), but with a borderline result.

There were no questions on the exam that were exactly the same as on the tests.

But there were similar questions.

Therefore, if you pass the course material in good faith, you can pass the exam.

Previously, I took a trial ISTQB as part of QA conferences, and my results were high.

I`ve realized that it was necessary to take a separate course for the 2018 program after my colleagues got poor results on the exam. 

It feels like the 2018-th version of the exam is more difficult than last year's versions.
